Do You Know The Five Major Advantages Of PET Plastic-steel Strapping?

As an environmentally friendly strapping material, PET plastic-steel strapping offers significant advantages over PP and metal strapping tape. Specifically, they can be distinguished in the following five aspects.

First, environmental protection and recyclability. Plastic-steel, PP, and metal strapping tape are all recyclable packaging and strapping materials. Plastic-steel and PP strapping tape are plastic strapping tapes and will not rust. Unlike metal strapping tape, which can rust easily after prolonged storage or exposure to moisture, directly contaminating the packaged goods.

Second, the material used. Plastic-steel strapping tape is referred to many ways in the industry, including plastic-steel strapping, PET strapping tape, cable strapping, and PET plastic strapping. The more professional term is PET plastic-steel strapping tape. It is a new type of high-strength, high-tensile-strength plastic strapping tape made primarily from PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottle flakes or pellets through stretching and extrusion. Plastic-steel strapping has the same strength and tensile strength as steel strapping, while retaining the stretchability and shrinkage properties of plastic products, ensuring that goods will not break or become loose under external impact.

Third, Packaging Efficiency

Plastic-steel strapping has a significantly higher breaking strength than PP strapping and is comparable to that of metal strapping. It can completely replace steel strapping or wire of the same tensile strength for packaging goods of the same specifications. For the same specifications and length, and for the same goods, plastic-steel strapping weighs only one-sixth of steel strapping. Based on market pricing for both, using plastic-steel strapping instead of steel strapping can save at least 50% in packaging costs.

Fourth, Safety

Plastic-steel strapping has an elongation and shrinkage of 10%-14%, while metal strapping or steel wire only have elongation and shrinkage of 3-5%. In other words, plastic-steel strapping tightens more than steel strapping during tightening and is less likely to loosen. Furthermore, after strapping, the goods have a 10-14% cushioning elongation when subjected to strong external forces, making it less likely to break, ensuring the safety of the goods.

Plastic-steel strapping combines the properties of plastic without the sharp edges of steel, preventing damage to the packaged objects and harming operators during the packaging and unpacking process.

Fifth, regarding packaging efficiency, plastic-steel strapping is lightweight and easy to handle. It can be used with manual, pneumatic, or electric strappers, eliminating the need for pre-cutting the straps. It is simple to operate and highly efficient.
