Maintenance and care tips for Battery Powered Plastic Strapping Tool

Mar 03, 2021 Leave a message

Battery-powered plastic strapping tools is an efficient and convenient packing equipment, widely used in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing and other fields. In order to ensure the long-term stable operation of the battery, extend the service life, and reduce the failure rate, the following details from the daily cleaning, battery maintenance, component inspection and replacement, storage environment, operating specifications and other aspects of battery plastic tape tools maintenance and repair methods.

 Daily Cleaning.

(A) Clean body
After each use of the packing tool, wipe the body surface with a clean, soft, dry cloth to remove dust, stains and plastic debris from the strapping process. For stubborn stains, use a small amount of neutral detergent and gently wipe with a damp cloth. However, it is important to prevent detergents from getting inside the machine. After wiping, dry cloth should be used in a timely manner to prevent moisture residue from causing the body to rust or short circuit.
(B) Strapping Head Cleaning
The strapping head is one of the core components of packing tool, which is in direct contact with the strapping tape. It easily accumulates tape and dust residue. Use a small brush or compressed air regularly to clean clutter from inside the bundles to ensure that the bundles pass through smoothly. This helps to avoid problems such as unstable bundles or broken tape due to blockage. At the same time, check for wear or damage to each component of the bundling head and replace it as soon as possible if wear or damage is found.

 Battery Maintenance

(A) Charging Specifications

  1. 1. Use the original charger: Battery and charger come with different types of battery-powered plastic strapping tools. Using a non-original charger can lead to low charging efficiency, battery damage and even safety accidents. So be sure to use the original charger to charge the battery.
  2. Avoid overcharging and overcharging: overcharging will increase the internal pressure of the battery, lead to heat, deformation, and shorten the battery life. Over-discharging can reduce battery capacity and affect battery performance. Typically, when the remaining charge is 20% -30%, unplug the charger when the charge is complete.
  3. Charging environment: Charging in a well ventilated, temperature appropriate environment. Avoid charging in hot, humid or direct sunlight. High temperatures can speed up battery aging, humidity can short-circuit batteries, and direct sunlight can raise battery temperatures, affecting charging performance and battery life.

(B) Battery storage
If the strapping tool cannot be used for a long time, remove the battery from the machine and store it in a dry, shady place. Before storage, make sure the battery is around 50% -60% full to prevent battery damage if the battery discharges completely during storage. At the same time, the battery is charged and discharged every 1-2 months (as recommended) to maintain its activity and performance.

 Component Inspection and replacement

(A) Tape Tape Guide and Railway Inspection
Check regularly whether the tape guide rail is smooth, deformed or worn. If there are scratches or burrs on the surface of the guide rail, sandpaper should be used to smooth the surface in time to avoid scratching the strapping tape and affect its quality. At the same time, check whether the fastening screws of the guide rail are loose. If there is any loosening, tighten in time to ensure that the guide rail is installed firmly.
(B) Tool inspection and replacement
The cutter is an important component of the packing tool and is responsible for cutting the strapping tape. As the number of times used increases, the tool will gradually wear and tear, resulting in uneven cutting or uneven ends of tape. Therefore, wear and tear of the tool should be checked regularly. When the tool becomes dull or dented, replace it promptly. When replacing the tool, should ensure that the tool is installed correctly and firmly, so as not to loosen or fall off during use.
(C) Inspection Other Wear-Prone Parts
In addition to tape rails and knives, the strapping tool have other fray-prone components such as belts, gears and bearings. Periodically inspect these components for wear and tear and replace them in time to ensure the proper operation of the binding tool if there is wear and tear or damage. When replacing worn-out parts, we should choose products of the same quality and reliability as the original parts and avoid using inferior parts, which will affect the performance and service life of the binding tool.

INTRODUCTION Storage environment

(A) Dry
Bagging tools should be stored in a dry, ventilated place to avoid humidity. Damp conditions can easily lead to rust and short circuits in parts of the machine, affecting the normal use of binding tools. If the storage environment is high in humidity, place some desiccants around the binding tool to absorb moisture from the air.
(B) Avoid collisions
When storing binding tools, avoid collisions with other heavy objects that damage the outer casing of the machine or loosen internal parts. You can place the packing tool on a special tool cabinet or shelf to ensure its stability and safety.

 Operation Specifications

(A) Training of operators
Operators should receive professional training and be familiar with the operation process and precautions of packing tools. In the process of use, strictly follow the operating procedures to avoid improper operation of the machine damage or safety accidents.
(B) Avoid overloading
Different battery-powered plastic strapping tools have different strapping specifications and carrying capacity. In the process of use, according to the specifications of the tape and the weight of the binding items to choose the appropriate binding tools, to avoid overloading. Overload can accelerate the wear and tear of packing tool components, shorten their service life and even lead to machine failures.
(C) Regular test drive
If the binding tool has not been used for a long time, do a test before using it again. Check that all functions of the packing tool are normal, such as packing and feeding smoothly, cutting machine is clean, battery charge is sufficient, etc.. If problems are identified, they should be repaired and adjusted in a timely manner to ensure that the strapping tool works properly before use.

According to the above methods, the daily cleaning, battery maintenance, component inspection replacement, storage environment and operation specifications of battery-plastic packing tools can effectively prolong the service life of the strapping tools, improve the efficiency and quality of battery-plastic packing tools, reduce maintenance costs and create greater economic benefits for enterprises.
