Strapping tape is also known as packing tape. Packaging strapping tape (strapping tape) is made primarily from polyethylene, polypropylene resin, and cold-rolled steel strip, with additional materials like nylon and polyester. It is produced through processes such as extrusion, uniaxial stretching, heat treatment, and blueing. In addition to being used for sealing and strapping corrugated boxes, hot-rolled steel coils, and cold-rolled steel coils, it can also be used to strap glass, pipes, materials, fruits, and more.
Strapping tape is a widely used packaging material with a wide variety of types. According to different classification methods, it can be classified into the following aspects:
1. From the production of PP material, it can be divided into core strapping tape and solid strapping tape;
2. From the quality of the product, it can be divided into transparent A-grade, transparent B-grade, A-grade, AB-grade, B-grade, BC-grade and C-grade, etc.;
3. From the use of the strapping machine, it can be divided into manual strapping tape and machine strapping tape (machine strapping tape is further divided into fully automatic machine strapping tape and semi-automatic machine strapping tape);
4. From the purpose, it can be divided into packaging strapping tape and handicraft strapping tape;
5. From whether it is printed, it can be divided into printed strapping tape and non-printed strapping tape;
6. From the perspective of bearing capacity, there are mainly PP strapping tape, plastic steel strapping tape (also called PET strapping tape) and iron strapping tape;
7 1. From the source of raw materials for making strapping tape, it can be divided into new material strapping tape and recycled material strapping tape;
8. From the color point of view, there are mainly white strapping tape, gray strapping tape and colored strapping tape.
Take the strapping tape industry as an example. Initially, strapping tape was made from straw ropes, which later evolved into environmentally friendly transparent strapping tape. This industry has developed for more than 30 years. For a long time, people focused only on the price per ton, opting for the cheapest options. This demand affected some strapping tape manufacturers, leading to the emergence of cheaper alternatives such as sandwich strapping tape, ton bag strapping tape, and recycled material strapping tape.
Generally speaking, one roll of lightweight, environmentally friendly strapping tape is equivalent to five rolls of ordinary strapping tape available on the market. Moreover, the price of these five rolls far exceeds the market price of environmentally friendly lightweight strapping tape. In fact, when comparing the performance of pure material strapping tape with other types, the tensile strength of pure material strapping tape of the same specification is twice that of other material strapping tapes. Additionally, the tensile strength of Yazhijiang lightweight and environmentally friendly strapping tape can reach three times that of similar market products.
From the perspective of appearance, usage effect, customer groups, glossiness, transparency, and color brightness, pure material strapping tape and recycled material strapping tape are not on the same level.
